21/08/2011 Percy-Simpson comeback
Olympic champions recover from slow start at Weymouth regatta.

Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson (90-95), Olympic champions in the Star class at the Beijing Games, recovered from a poor start at the Weymouth and Portland International Regatta Olympic test event in early-August to win their medal race and claim silver behind Brazil's world champions Robert Scheidt and Bruno Prada.

In their second race the pair lost their rigging - for the second time in three events - when they were lying second. The running backstay snapped, forcing the couple to retire.

After carrying out overnight repairs, Percy & Simpson then achieved six straight top-five finishes and were in fourth position overall entering the final race.
