The Chairman of the College's Governors invites the OPs to update them on OP activities.
On 6th July 2011 Mark Dumas, as Chairman of the OPs, made a presenation to the Colleges's Governors at their Summer Meeting. He said there were probably over 3,500 OPs ranging from their 90's to those who left Pangbourne at Founder's Day 2011.
Mark reminded them that the OP Society works as the major stake-holder in the Pangbourne Association (PA), with current and past parents. The PA provides the OPs with a budget of about £20,000 to help with communication via the OP website, its annual magazine, subsidise some sport and social events and pay for office support from the College's offices.
He went on to outline the sporting and social events of the last year and the ones scheduled for the future.
OPs have generously supported the College with offers of work experience, employment and networking for pupils, past and present. This year the OPs had a stand at the College's successful Careers Fair, which was manned by David Nicholson (1964-69). Steve Davis (1974-81) who is now a current parent of a Pangbournian, also gave a talk on behalf of OPs to the VI form leavers telling them how the OPs interact and welcoming them to our community.
