CHARLES HERON-WATSON (57-61) was honored at the end of November with an honorary Merchant Navy Medal award for services to the welfare and education of the dependents of needy merchant seafarers according to an article in The Times.
The medal was first issued in 2005 as a charitable initiative and is supported by the UK Chamber of Shipping, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and trade unions. It rewards meritorious service or acts of courage.
