Eric Gerres (1939-41) who died in 1997 left a legacy which was used in three ways.
 

• £10,000 was immediately spent on new musical instruments for the Band.
• In 2001, a fine wall cabinet was built to display the many OP archives. This was sited in the Peter Points Library where there is already a bookcase displaying books by OPs.
• In 2007, in the book section of the Library area, converted from what is known to older OPs as "the Crystal Palace, a no expense spared attractive room has been created.
